Description: In 1992, Birmingham was named South Australia’s Lion Club Youth of the Year. In 1993, Birmingham was awarded Town of Gawler’s ‘Australia Day Young Citizen of the Year Award’. Birmingham holds a Master of Business Administration from the Adelaide Graduate School of Business, University of Adelaide. The Hon. Senator Simon Birmingham has been a Liberal Party member since 2007. From 2013, Birmingham served as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for the Environment, then as Assistant Minister for Education and Training in the Tony Abbot led Liberal Government. In 2014, he was promoted to Minister for Education and Training in the Turnbull led Liberal Government. In 2018, Birmingham became the Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment in the Morrison Liberal Government.
