Description: Cyril Arthur Cockshell B.E.M. was elected as Gawler Councillor for Willaston Ward 1974 to 1980. (B.E.M. = The British Empire Medal is a British medal awarded for meritorious civil or military service worthy of recognition by the Crown.) He married Margaret Dympna Teresa Schwerdt [always known as Dympna]. She was born 30-8-1915 and died 04-10-2010. Their children were: Mary 7-11-37 Elaine 25-4-41 who married Bob Phillips (born 29-8-37 and who passed away 7-8-2017) Ray 5-11-49, and Cyril [David] 30-6-53.
