Description: Pastor at Gawler Lutheran Parish 1976 – 1978 Pastor Eckermann served the Gawler Lutheran Parish as an assistant pastor to Pastor Sander, replacing Pastor Mattiske. Pastor Eckermann was previously a long-term missionary in the Lutheran Church in New Guinea. Pastor Eckermann worked at Gawler in both the Zion and Immanuel churches, and spent time in negotiations with Government and other bodies to establish the Zion Pre-School Centre. His work was increasingly restricted by poor health, which eventually caused him to resign.
