Fire the Cannon: Celebrating the Birth of the Iconic Gawler Institute Building. On 30th May 1870 all of Gawler stopped to join the celebrations at the laying of the foundation stone of the Gawler Institute building. This exhibition celebrates that day and the community fundraising of the previous 13 years which enabled it to happen.
