Description: I was born in Brisbane and went to All Hallows School in Brisbane for all my school years. I left school at 15 and worked in the Commonwealth Bank until I retired in 1978 to have my first child, Damien. I married [[Iland Patrick George OAM|Patrick]] in 1975 and in 1976 we travelled around Europe for 10 months in a little car and camped in a 2-man tent. Upon returning to Australia 1977, we moved to Gawler and lived there for 14 years. I worked with the Commonwealth Bank in the Elizabeth town centre. I loved living in Gawler as it was a country town and everyone knew everyone. We lived in 12 Quarton Street, Gawler East and over our back fence there were open paddocks — a bit different to today!!! We used to climb over the back fence and walk down to the famous Gawler 3 day Horse Event. I was very involved with school activities at St Brigid’s when the children attended school there — canteen duties, reading in the classroom, Parents and Friend’s Association and coaching tennis teams. I also helped distributing meals with the Gawler Meals on Wheels Association. All my banking background came into good use when my husband, Patrick and I formed our book publishing business in Gawler in 1987. I type all the layout of our books and organize printing in Adelaide. We are very proud to say that all the books are ‘100% Australian made’. We can read about our books on [[Iland Patrick George OAM|Patrick’s]] profile. Gawler was a great place to bring up my children and I will always have fond memories of it and its people.
