Description:
Twentyfourth Street [[Gawler South]] was within the region initially developed as [[Bassett Town]] and can be seen on the [https://www.flickr.com/photos/gawler_history/54679879330 plan for the second release of land in 1858], but was not given a name at that time. The name was likely assigned around 1930 when that section of Bassett Town became part of Gawler South and the streets were renamed with numerical street names. Prior to this, the lack of name was unlikely to have been a problem as none of the houses built by that time faced onto the street, instead facing towards either Twentyfirst or Twentysecond Streets (this section of the street is still not bitumised as of 2025). More recently houses have been built on the southern end of Twentyfourth Street between Twentysecond Street and Cherry Street, some of these houses face Twentyfourth Street and that section of is bitumised. The fields below can each contain multiple values. Separate them with a comma.
