Since the late 1800s this row of shops have had active trade, some of us remember it as Congdon's deli and in the last 5 years the shops have been used for hairdressing, state government candidate office and assorted food shops. The big colourful May Brothers mural which was affixed to the northern wall of the entry to the rear carpark has been preserved and has now been securely placed in the National Trust museum in Gawler.

Demolition of these shops started August 2012. We will endeavour to regularly update with photos of the ongoing redevelopment being undertaken by the proprietors of the Old Spot Hotel.
