Stanley Garnet May Was born in Gawler, the son of Alred May. Stanley played football for the South Gawler Football Club. Stanley played for the 'May Brothers' Cricket Team against a 'Railways'cricket team in 1913 scoring 24 not out in his first innings and 13 in his second.

Stanley was killed in action at Belgium, 31 July 1917 during World War One.
